Examples of hydrodynamic analyses using MOSES

A few examples where GM has used MOSES are mentioned below:

• Transport analyses in order to calculate motions, velocities and acceleration of barges, supply vessels, etc.

• Air-gap and slamming analyses

• Lifting operations, lowering a structure from a vessel through the splash-zone

• Dynamic time and frequency domain simulation of moored vessels

• Global FEM analyses of semi-submersibles, involving the ultimate, accidental and fatigue limit state conditions

• Global FEM analyses of FPSOs

• In-place analyses of jackets

• Time and frequency domain simulation of vessels/structures connected to each other

• Design of oil storage tanks resting on the seabed

• Hydrostatic analyses, intact and damaged stability, compute ballast plans, etc.
